How to give Mekinist:

•     Mekinist is an oral medicine, once a day. At least 1 hour before a meal or 2 hours after a meal.

•     Swallow Mekinist tablets whole. Do not crush or dissolve tablets.
•     Unless your healthcare provider tells you, do not change the dosage or stop Mekinist.
•     If you miss the dose, please remember as soon as possible. If it has been more than 12 hours since the missed dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal time.
•     Do not take more than 1 dose of Mekinist at a time. If you take too much, call your health care provider immediately.
•     Store Mekinist in a refrigerator between 36°F and 46°F, not in the freezer.
•     Place the tablets in the bottle that comes in, and do not move them to the pill holder.
•     Store in the original container. Do not remove moisture-proof packaging. Avoid light.
•     Keep medicines away from children and pets.
•     The amount of Mekinist you will receive depends on many factors, your overall health condition or other health problems, and the type of cancer or condition being treated. The current recommendation is to take one tablet a day. Higher doses do not always produce better response and may lead to increased toxicity. Your doctor will determine your dosage and schedule.
